Respected sir/madam. Iam into event management business, here i send artists for shows out of india for dance performance. Before sending them out i do have a contract agreement duly signed by them, eventhough my company is not registered one.It was running smoothly till recently two artists failed to fulfill the agreement and ran away by taking payment of 1.2 lakh each and they both happens to be sisters.Initially police were reluctant to entertain my case terming it to be civil matter but latter anyhow i succeded to get non dated cheques from their brother for Rs 2lakh. And the real trouble started now as the artist don't have permanent address here in mumbai and they are from UP ,and the bank whose cheque given by their brother is of from U P branch. For sure i know that cheque will bounce since one bearer cheque i presented to bank here returned due to no funds in account. Now my query is, which is better place to file case if all cheques bounces, mumbai or their permanent place UP..and there is any chances of my unregistered company agreement is quashed from the court?.and chances of recovery of my money. Hope experts will give their valauble time to read my long query and provide me valuable suggestion...thanking you.
