My query is ___If i have a ticket (online booking) which is on waiting list and i am traveling with dis ticket...Meanwhile can it be canceled?
It has happened with one of my friend and Authority said your money will be returned to your a/c. But he took extra charge as a fine(twice amount)because my ticket was on waiting list..considered as i am traveling without ticket. Is it legally right? Is there any provision in Indian Railway Act?

Hypothetical question?

You can not travel with a waiting list railway ticket, booked online.

If the online waiting list ticket is not confirmed even after the chart preparation, it will be automatically get cancelled and you will get the refund.

You can read the rules in the irctc.co.in while booking the ticket itself.

Ticket showing status of in 'waiting list' is not a valid ticket at all and the person carrying it would be considered as ticket less traveler.

You cannot travel with wait list ticket
So Rly rightly fined you as Passenger travelling without ticket.
U can claim refund for wl tkt

What is the position when the refund is credited to the passenger's account. In my case there three such entries booked during Jan 2011 where the proceeds yet to be realized where IRCTC and Bank showing fingers against each other.

Normally the IRCTC will send intimation to you regarding the cancellation. I have not issues relating to refunds.

Actually in E-ticket mentioned about cancellation and refund policy. if you read, then you have no need to come here.
