Under Order 41 Rule 27 of CPC , the appellate court has power to admit new documents in certain circumstances.
For that you definitely need to file petition under the provision mentioned above stating in detail why you did not file that document in trial.

The DRAT is having the same powers as are vested in a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.
so you may follow the procedure Order 41 Rule 27 of CPC.
