Dear Sir,
I am working as a lecturer in a Govt. aided college.I was appointed as a Prisiding Officer for the coming election that is going to be held on 7th April 2014. Ihave attended three trainings and will perform my duty as a Prisiding Officer on 7th. But, the problem is that my son is suffering from severe illness and I have sheduled an appointment with a doctor of Apollo, Delhi on 28th April, for which I have reserved my train tickets for 25th April and will return on 9th May. My college authoroties have informed me that I will also get election duty as a counting supervisor on 16th May and they cant grant me Earned leave or any station leave for the same till the counting is over. My question to you is that -is it fair to appoint me in two election duties. If so whether it is possible to get rid of the second duty?

you have to put up you case before Distt Election Officer who alone can give you relief and your college authorities have no jurisdiction unless they are bale to give a reliever.

Request district election office, no other alternate.

With an application to the District Election Officer, make a request to consider your request on humanitarian grounds by giving the proof of the proposed treatment as well as the particulars, you may get a chance to get an exemption from the national duty.
