i had taken credit card from icici bank and was their good customers for a couple of years...in between i had lost my job and was in financial crisis due to which i could not make payments.since 2010 i was unable to pay them.they have been torturing me day and night,i guess some recovery agency.last month i got a new job.my intentions ao re clear and i wish to settle this but i need time of at least 6 months as i need to settle my family too as my husband is also jobless and i have a small baby.they are threatening me every day.they call in my new office,my mothers place,building society.i am very disturbed and tensed.what should i do?

You can file a case of criminal intimidation against them.
Better to negotiate with them and settle for a lesser amount.

First Do not issue any Cheque for temporary reliefs because of their harassment which would land you in more trouble.Consult a Good lawyer and you file a case in Lok Adalat.If the Recovery Agents mis behaves Contact Women Help Line and file strong complaints to the maximum.Take the Women's help line no immediately and keep it Ready.Be Bold

If you are a female then you can approach women cell of local police too.
If you do not want to be disturbed on phone then you should instruct the bank in writing under acknowledgment.
If you have not issued acknowledgment of debt in writing then your lawyer may opine that it has been time barred.
It shall be better if you consult a lawyer in person with all record.
CC is only for convenience and should be carried only if one has cash to pay CC Bills. Debit card is much better.

sir,as they insisted and to show my genuineness i had deposited 1000 cash in my credit card account in sept 2013...can that be an issue?
where can i get women help line no...
plz help...i am very disturbed..:(

This can be an issue.
Deny depositing any amounts.
Remember if you are not recording any calls they might be.
It shall be better if you consult a lawyer in person with all record.

you visit the bank brach personally . talk to bank officlas regarding settlement . bank will rescheduly your installments

sir i need time to settle down myself as i have got a job recently...and they are unwilling to give me time...what should i do...since morning again and again they are calling in my office which is creating problem for me at my job also.i called womens helpline and they said go to police station.i am helpless..

sir as advised by all experts i had gone to the police station but to my biggest shock when the agents called me on my cell when i was in police station i forced the inspector to take call on my behalf but he hesitated.but when i forced him to do so he spoke to the agents very politely in marathi and after hanging up he is being partial on their side and telling me that this is a civil case and we cannot do anything in this case.ashamed of mumbai police...
with no other option i approached the bank directly and ask them for settlement..they agreed to settle the amount of 84000 in 54000 in 7 installments.they want PDC and they said that i ll receive the no due certificate only when the last installment is cleared.online i have studied people complaining that icici bank makes false promises of providing no due certificate after taking installments and then asks for balance money also.what should i do?

we had advised you to take letter from bank that they are accepting money of Rs 54,000 in full and final settlement
