Driving authorisation letter

I usually drive my friend's and other relatives' cars around. Do i need to have an authorisation letter in addition to my driving license and car documents in order to stay safe?

Only driving license and car registration documents are needed to be carried and an authorisation letter,THOUGH NOT NEEDED BUT
shall be extra beneficial for your safeguard as it shall prove your lawful custody and possession of vehicle under bailment as bailee from the bailor.

If you have driving license of your own then there is no need as desired.
