R/sir,
plese tell me the difference between arrest & custody. Is custody can be complete or partial, please explain with some example?

If one is formally arrested, one will know it, and along with formal arrest, ones protections under the Constitution come as well. It is an unambiguous situation.
Custody, on the other hand, can include a stop on the street by the police that a reasonable person believes means he/she can't leave, and their status as a material witness, in which they are questioned at a station about a crime and also believe one can't leave. This is the gray area that even the Court sought to color. It remains gray .

but sir, as u illustrated:-

sir, i think its detention which is differ from custody.
but still i have a confusion, Is custody can be complete or partial ?
please help to resolve the query.
