Buying a agricultural land, but i am not a farmer.

I want to buy an agricultural land but I am not a farmer , can I buy it or not? Or if I in partnership with a farmer is it possible to do it and then after I can get certificate of farmer.

in maharashtra you cant buy agricultural land if you are not a farmer .

1. In some states, you can still buy agricultural land even without being a farmer,

If you are genuinely interested in taking up farming you may seek requisite permission from the District Collector.

Obtaining permission from DM is the only remedy before you.

For genuine reasons you can obtain permission from the District Collector of that district for purchase of agricultural lands being a non-agriculturist. Approach with an application citing strong reasons for it.
