Married under Christain marriage act less than Year. Am looking for a divorce as my wife and inlaws are troubling me.
Please help me how I approach for divorce they are demanding 10lac rupees, my flat, gold, my car. there is no to help. Reported the matter to police but they say go to court.
My wife is educated and working. Is she liable for any maintainance

File a case for divorce under Indian Divorce Act on the ground of cruelty.
If there is not much disparity between your income then she is entitled to any maintenance.

FIRST OF ALL YOU SHOULD FILED A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT AGAINST ALL THE IN-LAW WHO ARE READY TO HARRAS TO YOU U/S 383/384 FOR EXTORTION AFTER THAT YOU SHOULD FILED A DIVORCE PETITION BEFORE THE COURT ACCORDING TO INDIAN DIVORCE ACT ON THE GROUND OF CRULTY.

Your any initiative to file a Divorce suit or Criminal case may cause counter case u/sec.498a IPC,Dowry,Domestic Violence and Maintenance u/sec.125 Cr.P.C. by your wife.You can file a Divorce suit under Indian Divorce Act after one year of separation, but it is better to file it after two years of separation on desertion and cruelty grounds,not now.

best is mutual settlement & MCD u/s 10A Indian Divorce Act.If ready to pay your wife, it can be divorced fast too.

You are rightly advised by the experts. Go for divorce by mutual consent. Negotiate with them for the amount.
You can also file a petition for divorce. But proving the ground on which you seek is a bit difficult.

Thanks a lot. But my wife never leaves the house. for last seven months we are not talking to eachother, share different rooms, she goes to her parents place and comes any time. she has created seperate key for house without letting me.
I am getting totally harassed by this behaviour.

contact a local lawyer . first try to make out a case by various coreespondence . dont be in ahurry . tread with caution .

You should file for divorce, not withstanding all threats, they would be there if you wish to file for divorce after 2-3-5 years.

Dear All, Thanks a lot for supporting me.
Also, my marriage is not registered in court because of post-marital issues. We only got married in Church and later there has been no legal process. I really want to get rid of them & they are troubling me lot.
They are demanding 30 lacs, my 2bhk flat and about 200 gms of gold, do I have to offer this maintenance. How much maintenance she entitled to ?
