Mofa and dcr

Hello,

I need to knw can a relocation of the refusal area in a building will result to alteration in the structure of the building under MOFA and DCR. Please help with relevant sections.... its urgent.

I think you are referring to "refuse area" and not "refusal area". Refuse area is meant as a safe region in high rise building where all inmates of the building can gather in the event of fire accident. MOFA does not deal with this subject. Refuse area is required to be constructed as per the stipulations contained in Rule 10 of Appendix VIII of the DCR 1991. Any change or alteration in the location or construction of the refuse chamber requires approval of the BMC and fire depat. You may however consult your Architect for more details.
