Duties of municipal corporation

(Querist) 02 March 2012 This query is : Resolved 
IF A COMPLAINT IS BROUGHT TO THE NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL CORPORATION AND IF IT DOES NOT TAKE ACTION ON THE SAID COMPLAINT, THE CITIZEN IS FORCED TO SEEK JUSTICE THRU COURTS.
HE INCURS A LOT OF EXPENSE AND MENTAL TORTURE DURING THIS PERIOD.
AS WE ARE ALL WELL AWARE IF ONE GOES TO COURT TO GET JUSTICE HOW MANY YEARS THE CASES GO ON.
CAN THE CITIZEN WHO GOES TO COURT TO GET JUSTICE FOR THE CALLOUS ATTITUDE OF THE CORPORATION SEEK COSTS FROM THE CORPORATION.

Courts may or may not award cost but generally costs remains token.

Provided you are able to justify the cost and able to convince the judge that the municipal corporation was bound to provide you the requisite service within some time frame.

You are very much entitled to claim cost from the municipal authorities. The court can grant you the same if it is convinced.

The court it self enjoys the right to award or not to award cost of proceedings to a successful party.No separate suit lies there for.
