Cyber crime related

(Querist) 30 September 2014 This query is : Resolved
Respected Sir/madam,
I have worked as assistant professor (on contract basis) on one reputed university in Maharashtra state. During my research work, in lab, I found that my colleagues are doing fake research work by manipulating in obtained results to get the the good research publication with impact factor.
To bring this matter to notice to our higher authorities (VC and Registar of university) I have created one email account and sent this information to VC and registrar.
As I have created fake email id to give this true information with proofs, to VC he threatened me that he will filled case on me under cyber law and terminated my order.
Please help me,
As this kind of matter categories me as criminal?
Can i will be arrested by police?
Please help me.

No. you cannot arrest because you have not misused it. IT doesn't come under cyber crime.

The contents of your e-mail and your employment conditions have to be referred. Whether directly approaching higher authorities without informing immediate boss can attract disciplinary proceedings against you as per your service rules?

I. How they confirmed that you only have sent the information to VC by creating a fake e-mail ID.
2. And how you could accept for it.
3. If you are not accepting, why you could worry about it.

You have not hacked anyone email id.

You have created an email id and probably have not filled your true identity e.g. name, address to create this email id………………………

Probably you have sent it from your official/personal computer and the IP address/identity of the sender has been traced……………..

You have stated that the information posted by you is true…………………………and is neither false, nor annoying /defaming/menacing/intimidating etc………………………….or to create enmity etc……………..

If termination order is not passed then resolve the matter amicably however before you appear before VC contact a lawyer specializing in cyber law/Labor law and discuss and firm up what should you state in verbal/writing!

For doing a right thing you have taken a wrong route, anyway explain our position and intention before the authorities and and get reprieved.
Sudhir Kumar, Advocate (Expert) 05 October 2014
I am not able to see any wrong route taken by you. Please visit website of CVC. It encourages public officials to highlight irregularities.
