cheque unusable

dear Sirs...I received a cheque of PNB bank with amount 80000/-...As I deposited it in my account....I received a memo with cheque unusable...When I asked to PNB BANK why this happend..They said this cheque destroyed by the payer....So what should I do in future.....

If no amicable settlement, Send notice and file case of cheque bouncing.

Criminal case of cheating can also be filed.

Rightly advised by expert Rajenra.K.Goyal.cheque return due to any reason comes under the preview of sec 138 of N.I.Act.initiate proceedings u/s 138 of N.I.Act.

for the purpose of S.138 NI, you need to bring the dispute under its purview. find out whether the person had Rs. 80K when the cheque got dishonoured. otherwise you may file a complaint under S. 420 IPC against the person and prosecute him for having committed fraud upon you.
