I agree with the learned members, but if u want to chabge ur name in the school and college records you will have to file a suit for declaration and consequential relief of injuction. Limitation will apply.

You may file prescribed application along with affidavit for change of name wich is available in distict collector office.After submitting application collector or his officer will send it for approval in state gazzate.If they approve your application you will get copy of gazzet.But it will take its own time.

you need to change in gazette first
prescribed forms are there for the change of name
that to be sent along with prescribed fee
then after publication of the very same name in gazette, you need to publish in the local news paper

1.YOU HAVE TO STATE ON AFFIDAVIT THE OLD NAME AGE OCCUPATION AND ADDRESS AND THE REASON FOR CHANGE OF NAME AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS OF OLD NAME.AND ALSO WRITE NEW NAME AND ALL OTHER DETAILS IN THE SAID AFFIDAVIT WITH YOUR PHOTOGRAPH.
2.SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR CHANGE OF NAME WITH REQUIRED FEE WITH AFFIDAVIT AND DOCUMENTS ABOVEMENTIONED , TO THE GOVERNMENT PUBLICATIONS DEPT FOR PUBLICATION IN THE GOVT.GAZETTE OF YOUR STATE.
ONCE IT IS PUBLISHED IN GOVT GAZETTE YOU MAY ALSO GIVE NEWS PAPER PUBLICATION BY MENTIONING THE GAZETTE IN WHICH SAID NAME IS PUBLISHED.

that now u have change yr name.
