bank manager won't allow to close account in hdfc bank.

I got SMS and letter too at home saying -5000 (minuse) in my account which I never used amount 5000 from hdfc bank but only I had been done due to getting charge again and again I made the account zero and dint used for 6 month now I got letter stating need to pay before November 14 I went to Bank, manager inform me system won't allow to close till I pay the money which I never taken from bank.

Please help me how to work on this situation being not educated I were not knowing this and also don't know what to do

Please give me steps to close the account without paying to bank

File a case in District Consumer Forum against the said bank claiming compensation for deficiency of service, unfair trade practice and mental agony.

You can also file a criminal case in Judicial Magistrate Court against the said bank for cheating.

the legal expenses for filing complaint before consumer forum would be far more than Rs 5000 debited to your account

You can send complaint to Banking Ombudsman.

It seem that the Bank has charged fee for not maintaining minimum balance in the account. Send registered letter to close the account. Inform the Bank that you have visited the Bank previously also for closing the account, but Bank has not closed it.

Lodge complaint to Banking ombudsman, RBI, Head office of HDFC Bank.

I think rajendra it's because of not maintaining minimum balance I will same as you informed do you want me to mark cc to any head person of bank?
