My question is: if a sikh girl married according to sikh marriage ceremony to a sikh guy. If she converts herself to another religion say Islam, then in that case will her current marriage be still considered or become void and null?
I mean to say, will she still be considered as married to that sikh guy, as according to sikh religion only sikhs should be married according to Anand Karaj (The sikh marriage ceremony).

1. Sikhs are governed by the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.
2. Conversion to another religion will not render the marriage null and void.
3. But the other spouse can seek divorce under S. 13 of the HM Act.

Question does not arise. Once married the relation cannot be reversed as marriage does not become null & void, by itself. However, if any of the spouse is so rigidabout his/her religion the only course left is separation by seeking divorce from the other.
