i had written the foll. to which u had asked "what truth?"
thanks, m/s singh and basavaraj.
the owner will not tell the truth.
how to find out from the rent receipt?
please help.
the property where i am staying is bought by a builder. we believe ours is a trust property. by some means he might have bought it.
he wants to redevelop the property. we fear if it's a trust property in future we may have trouble. the builder is not at all trustworthy, so he may not tell the truth.
pl. help.
thanks.

If the trust is the public trust then check if the permission of the court has been obtained or not for development of the trust property. If not then you have to take initiative to remove future illegalities.

The property of a public trust cannot be sold at all. It can be merely be transfered to another public trust with similar objectives. Your query makes it clear that this property is being put to commercial use now. I don't think it will be legal and proper to convert the property for this purpose as it belongs to a public trust. All the members of the public are presumed to be beneficiaries of a public trust under Indian Trusts Act. Hence any one of them can choose to challenge the sale in favour of the builder and seek prohibitory orders from the court of law.

You can check public property records . Even if trust there is procedure for sale of property which no body can stop.

Yes the rights of legal tenants will be protected if you have documents.
