Trsnafer posting in case of pregency and family medical issues

(Querist) 10 May 2014 This query is : Resolved
I am currently employed with SBBJ as a Scale II officer in a samll town in Rajashthan. My Husband is emploed with a private firm that has presence in Delhi only.

I have made tranfer application since my marriage about 6 months back but there is no action on the same. This is a inter-zonal transfer situation.

My Mother in law is a cardiac patient and requires attention. I am currenlty pregenant and not in good health. In prevailing circumstaces it is increasingly getting difficult to stay far of from family.

Please advise whether the are any rules or court rulings that can help female employees seek tranfer to a branch near to family residence on medical/marriage grounds.

Reagrds,
Archana

Ms. Archana,

1. You see such rules do exist for couples who are both employed and working in the central govt.

2. Your employment is with S.B.B.& J and your husband is employed in private sector hence the rule that is available for central govt employees is not attracted in your case.

3. But, i do think your Bank will resolve your problem. The application for inter state transfer does take time but then you would need to keep a track of your application. Get to know some one influential in your organization who can assist you in expediting sanction of your transfer application.

Move an application for transfer. As Rohit said influence is very important

I agree with the experts opinion, after applying for transfer, visit the head office for some spade work so that you may may get the desired results.

Only SBBJ can solve your problem, meet personally to high ups (say General Manager - after taking time) and request.

You are an officer and can not claim transfer as a right (for pregnancy or for your husbands service) due to your service rules. There must be some understanding with the officers union in forming policy on transfers in such cases.

Personal try would be more fruitful than law in giving early relief.

1. Such rule exists in cases where both husband & wife work with the Central Govt,

2. Though the rule exists, in lot of cases it is not followed,

3. As SBBJ employee, you have very strong union to pursue your matter favourably,

4. Yours is also an inter zonal transfer which takes long time to affect,

5. Move through your Union without antagonising the Bank management, in your interest since SBBJ is not bound by law to transfer you to your husband's place of working.

The banks have well negotiated policies with representatives of employees and they are on board of the bank.

GO thru 'Transfer Policy' of your bank and quote from it if some favorable clause is found.

Bankers are skilled in public dealing.

Employee should be skilled in handling bosses also.

You have some genuine reason including the pregnancy.

Skillful handling of the matter and persuasion can help.

Remain amiable.
