Transfer policy of women with 4 yr child

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 07 April 2023 This query is : Resolved
I am central government employee. my child is 4 yrs old and I am posted to a remotest place where i cant keep my child . there were 40 other vacancies available where i could have posted. Is there any directions of DOPT for such transfer.
Quick Summary
A central government employee is seeking a transfer from a remote posting due to her 4-year-old child's needs, as the current location is unsuitable. While there's no explicit enforceable right to transfer in such cases, the advice suggests making a formal representation to the competent authority. This representation should highlight the personal circumstances and request accommodation to a more suitable location, acknowledging that transfers are ultimately at the discretion of the authorities.

Not heard of any such policy. You do not have enforceable right. Only request can help.

No such orders. You represent yourself for the sake of your 4 years child.

If the employment terms state that you are liable to work at any place wherever you may be posted, you have no option than to work from that place or you can resign your job.
However you can make representation to the competent authority venting out your grievances on this posting and request to accommodate to a place where you can live together with your family members and render service without any problem.

You may represent. However, transfer and posting is at the discretion of the authority concerned.
