How to check a particular land whether it is agricultural or non-agricultural in Tamilnadu?

In Patta Document it is mentioned as "Punsei". What does it mean?

Dear Sathish,
Nanjai or Nansei means Agricultural land used for cultivation of paddy.
Punjai or Punjai means Agricultural land used for cultivation of non-paddy (Pulses, money-crops, Vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc)

Besides these, there are other types of classification of lands.

if agricultural then check from revenue records and in case of urban check from the registrar's office of the area. engage lawyer of the concerned area. if required detailed advise then pay fee.
