Reversion of promotion from higher to lower post in central

i have been promoted to group b gazzted post from non gazzeted post in central govt deptt..but due to some family and health issues i want reversal of promotion..is it possible to take reversal.. our promotion is done on ad hoc basis

Once the promotion is rejected, it will be deemed to be a permanent rejection and you cannot get a promotion in the future.
