I am a respondent(Car Owner) in a MVC and wish to defend myself in the court personally. However, the plaintiff's advocate objects to this stating that, as I have filed a wakalatnama only my advocate can conduct the case. It is her contention that Criminal procedure code is applicable to MVC cases and hence Respondant must conduct the case through the advocate only. He can not do it himself.
Kindly advise if respondent can conduct the case and if yes how I have to counter the contention of the plaintiff's Advocate.

Not only mv act, for any kind of case any one can appear their case as in person. But just be some practical, for this little issue you are clarifying here. Then how can you face a learned advocate's arguements? So just appoint an advocate.

Either you as party in person or your advocate can conduct the case. Both of you parallel can not do that.

you need to trade off between yourself and your advocate who will prove best to conduct a court case and once choice made the same will remain.

U have 2 options. U can withdraw your vakalatnama & plead yourself or U may retain your advocate but plead your case yourself with leave of the court & your advocate.
