Hi,
Am a 30 year old and was in a relationship for almost 9 years within our family who is 25 years old both the family agreed and we were about the get engaged and married as there was no opposition from both the sides and I have been very supportive both financially and morally to their family, our wedding was post poned due to my father's death in 2021 may and since then there were many problems between us and both the families as we stopped talking and i have been spending most of my earnings to them, taking care of their household etc., and yes I have been a little upset with the way I was treated and I have said few abusive stuff and the relationship has basically ended as they had call this off, but now when I ask them for the money that I had given (i had given 60k for her father's treatment during covid) to return all the jewels that I bought, now the family is threatening me to logged a compliant against me if I call them to ask the money n jewels back.

Yes. Her age is 25 years and you started a relationship nine years back, i.e. she was at the age of 16 years which is an offense.

further more the offenses under POSCO are non-bailable and you seem to be leading your entire family (as abettors) toward the same.

You are also inviting allegation for dowry demand. Anyone can allege that after using the firm nearly for a decade you have declined marriage (or put difficult condition) due to no dowry.

You are leading yourself to pay life long (if girl is not married) maintenance to the girl.

You have not indicated what profession you are having so effect on career cannot be commented.

You have to take "U" turn.

You cannot demand the money you had given them during your good terms and times with them just because your relationship soared now.
Was there any loan agreement entered with them while giving that money, if not then there is no claim maintainable.
If they are not willing to continue the relationship or would like to give her in marriage to you, then you may better ignore her and look for some other better choice.
