Power of attorney

Hello Gurus !!

Greetings!!

1) My sister is married and is living in a different town. she has some share out of our ancestral property. I need to get a mukhtar nama (Power of Attorney)in my name from her (of the land belonging to her).

Can this be done in any town other than the town where her matrimonial house is located??

Any document effecting property can be executed anywhere but is registrable at the place of property, within 4 months of execution.

yes, power of attorney can be given at any town.

The registration can be effected at sub registrars office which has jurisdiction over the area where either the property is situated or the sub registrar office of residence of the POA proposer or acceptor.
