Dear Sir,
I am a GDSMD of Indian Poatal Department. A man from district head quarter of police came to my house and said your police verification is going on. He told me to ready some documents and call to him. I saw my file in his hand which i submitted to my office before joining. He also ask for rs 2000. But no case is held/pending against me. So that I do not wish to give him this money. Is that essential or not? If I deny to give this ammount, will it be harmfull to me in future? He gave his phone no to contact with him. What can I do please help me sir.

You are not clear with the facts.
Have you joined service without prior Police verification?
Have you started getting salary without prior police verification?
when did you join?
have you given correct information in the attention form ?
Which state are yo from whether state vigilance machinery there is effective?

you dont have to paY Rs 2000 for police verification . dont make payment

If you wish you can get him trapped with the help of state vigilance team.

For police verification, you need not give any bribe.

For your kind information police verification is held within one year after joining in central govt service. There is same thing of my other friends in my district.

No this is a deviation by your deptt.
No central govt employee can join without prior police verification and medical examination. Even offer cannot be issued.
FR/SR are applicable to central govt are very clear.
The first pay bill needs a certificate of completion of medical and police verification.

If you do not pay he cannot invent any facts to spoil the report.
If you pay him he cannot ignore any fact against you (if any) to give OK report.
Since deptt has already done a mistake of allowing you to join and draw salary the time is not at your peril.You are not in a hurry.

We need to be practical/ not theoretical or ideal/ to get our work done by authority in smooth, fast manner.
They have 101 legal excuses to harass .
All superiors are also hand in glove.
Though it will change due to NAMO policies, but will take time.
We have to bear till then.
