sir,
We failed to pay tax to the state revenue deptt.on a large extent of land .the land was taken by the govt as unclaimed land. Now can we claim the land back and claim for patta.please advice

I agree with Mr Bharath .

How it was Declared as Unclaimed property and taken over by the Govt , the date of such proceedings /proclamation and the Land Revenue Due amount - The Notification No; & dated - the statute/Revenue Act - udner which all these proceedings are taken by Govt - all the particulrs are required to further consider the issue !

You have got no legla right to get patta (say lease) as a matter of right rather it is the discretion of the State to allot it to you if you are found eligible and meritorious subject to compliance of all relevant rules. Make representation to the Revenue Deptt. authorities and offer to deposit the arrears of rent so that your request may be taken into consideration.

When the land is given on lease,certain conditions are attached to it and if you fail to comply those conditions the govt. can cancel the lease and take back the land.
