Omission to pay 1st month's salary

(Querist) 17 November 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts, I have a query for your valuable opinion. An employee joined in February and the appointment was sent by post. He joined in Feb, but returned the letter duly signed in March, mentioning the date in March ( one month latter). During data processing, the date of joining was entered as March and hence no salary was paid for Feb. The matter was raised by the employee by pending resolution. This month's salary has to be paid in Nov as arrears. What will be the implication for EPF AND ESI.
Thanks
Vasudevan

Thanks for your instant, excellent & positive suggestion.

EPF and ESI will also have to be paid. You cannot benefit by your own folly.
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 19 November 2012
Your date of coverage under EPF and ESI shall also be with effect from your actual date of joining. Correction in data means entire correction in record.

Thanks Dear Makkad Sir. Vasudevan
