Money recovery from admission agent

Dear Sir,
I had paid a sum to a person for admission of my child to a pvt medical college thru mgmt quota. After taking the money he assured me of trying a seat in a govt medical college also. Subsequently he did not get admission anywhere and is not returning my money even though he is contactable over phone. I have his recorded coversation and film taking the money.
Do I stand a strong police / legal case for recovery of my money.
Pls guide.

Sorry, you paid a bribe to him for which you could nothing.
Forget the money and try to admit the child on merit somewhere else.
