sir/madam,

weather Muslim widows entailed for maintenance from wakf board, if yes how much

sir i have seen in internet on particular date 23/08/2011, siasat daily

one of my friend was saying, Muslim widow can claim Rs.500 to Rs.1000 yearly from wakf board.

What is the need to go to Waqf Board when she can get better relief from court of law u/s 12 of PWDV Act or u/s 125 crpc.

Waqf Boards are to provide payment for "maintenance to muslim women in terms of orders of a competent court, under the provisions of the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act, 1986."

most of wakf boards dont have enough funds . so there is no uniform figure and it varies from state to state
