Maintainance to woman in live in relation ship

One of my Friends Mother lived in Live in relationship with a person who worked in Tamilnadu Police Department for more than 10 years Now that Retired Police man drove her out from his life Now That woman is starving and struggling to survive
Whether the lady has right to claim maintenance from her so called partner

This lady can seek maintenance from the man with who she lived in relationship. They both lived in domestic relationship in shared household that entitle the lady to claim maintenance and place of residence from this man under the Protection of the Women from the Domestic Violence Act, 2005.
