Legal heir certificate

(Querist) 19 November 2012 This query is : Resolved
My father and mother have expired. Their death certificates are with my uncle (my father's brother) and also he has my legal heir cerificate. He is the one who have helped me in getting it. But now he is not ready to give me the original copies. I need them for selling my father's property which is in Chennai. I am currently working in Bangalore. Please let me know how can I get those certificates for myself.

Contact local Municipal office and fallow the procedure to obtain the death certificate then apply at Mandal/Taluk Office for obtaining the Legal Heir / Proper Person Certificate only to get right on the moveable as pert law it is not required for the immoveable proprieties

Death certificates are issued by the municipality in whose jurisdiction the person died. The certificates can be obtained at any time and any number of times on payment of requisite fees. Heirship certificate is not necessary for sale of ommovable property. It is generally obtained for getting the revenue records/municipal records mutated with the names of the heirs of the deceased person.

This is not a big problem. You can again get these documents prepared as this is very easy process.
