My land was acquired in the year 1980-81. After the dearh of my father in 2011 , i wanted to sell the land and came to know that it was acquired from the neighbouring land owners. I enquired with the Special Land Acquisition Officer and he told me that the compensation has been paid to the landholder adjascent to my land. The rent receipt upto 2016 is in my name and i have got Land Possession certificate issued by Circle Officer in my name. Can i get my land back as per new act 2013 of land acquisition act. What does law say if compensation of my land has been paid to someone else.The survey map also shows the area of my land clearly marked.How can Land acquisition officer pay compensation of my land to someone else without informing me. Sir, what should i do now please give me suggestions.

If the possession of the land still vests with you and it has not been utilized as on date and even you have not been paid the due compensation then definitely the aforesaid land can be got released as per the provisions of the new law, Better to contact local lawyer with the entire record of the acquisition and ownership etc,

All related documents need to be referred that how your land was acquired and compensation was paid to someone else. There is possibility, no notice for acquiring was issued to actual owner, and the process lack procedural / legal defect.

Thank you for your response. I asked the special land acquisition officer as to how can he pay compensation to someone else. His reply was to go to the court and file title suit. Anyway i will contact lawyer .
