Incorrect address

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 06 February 2026 This query is : Resolved
Twenty years ago, I heard a check case was filed against me. My brother had me sign a Vakalat (power of attorney for a lawyer) on the date of the case and appointed a lawyer. Since I later went abroad, a warrant was issued, and the case eventually became an LP (Long Pending) case. I only found out later that the complainant filed the case using an incorrect address. Can this case be cancelled for that reason? Will a Quash Petition still be valid since a lawyer appeared for me once? Is there any way to find out now if the lawyer actually appeared back then? The brother who handled all of this is no longer alive.

Did you not consult your lawyer? If the incorrect address was noted, the complainant might have been published in a Newspaper regarding the case. So consult your laywer and follow his guidance as he is welaware of the facts of the case.

If you had appointed your lawyer 20 years ago, what did s/he do for the case?
What do you intend to know from the experts on the basis of incomplete and vague information repeatedly posted ?

The facts, as posted, are less than convincing. if the summons had not been served, why you appointed the lawyer?
If there had been no appearance, the case would not have reached LP stage.
What is the Case No.? Which Court?
