thats court's discretion..
if you have valid reason mean court can dispenes your appearance for few hearings., there is no specific period.,
if its any other stage mean your advocate can apear on behalf of you., i.e: enquiry or arguments.. but there evidence should be given by you mean simply they can get adjournment only., nothing more can do..

In civil case the presence of you is merely optional and the court has no discretion to insist for your presence unless the date is fixed for your evidence only.

As matrimonial disputes are civil in nature so personal presence of the parties is not necessary except for conciliation meetings and evidence.

no makkad sir., am differ from your opinion.,
without out the appear the parties advocate can not proceed no longer before family courts.. here lot of cases getting dispossals for continuous absense of the petitioner or respondents.,

Yes i agreed with my Ld. friend Tom, as in many cases the principal judge disposes the matter or issue ex parte decree in absence of petitioner/ respondent for skipping the personal appearance by either of them on continuous basis.

In Family Court, parties have to appear. Court may grant adjournment for two consecutive dates.
