Does franking serve the purpose of a stamp paper?
for making a power of attorney how much amount franking should be done?

Dear sir, depending upon the power given to attorney the question of requiring registration or not can be answered. If the POWER of ALIENATION of a immovable property is given to the attorney holder, then registration is mandatory by paying a proper stamp duty.
In case if the ATTORNEY holder is a close relative - within family and NO POWERS to alienate is given to attorney holder then notarization wil be perfectly legal. Regards

Stamp differs from state to state. Franking serves the purpose of payment of stamp fee.
It is advisable that the POA should be got registered.

i was told by a friend that if POA is in the name of your parents then only notarization is required and if its made in favour of the person(not in blood relation) then registration is required.is it true?

power of attorney in maharashtra has to be on Rs 500 stamp paper or get it franked for said amount . power of attorney for sale of property needs registration whether it is in name of family member or not
