Is it necessary to register a Family Settlement Deed?

How a Power of Attorney could be obtained in case one of the parties to the settlement is a NRI?

avbisable to register a family settlement deed .

if deed is merely a memorandum it may not require registration however if it is more of partition deed of fmaily properties then it would require registration .
