Character certificate validity

Dear sir/ma'am
i have recently joined a central govt organisation, and i hv submitted my character certificate which is 3 months old. but the are not accepting it as it is not written anywhere in the certi that it is valid for 6 months.
Is there any official statement of the govt of India tha a character certi is valid upto 6 months?
plz help me out

you have just joined the service and on to lock horns with administration on non-issues.

There may not be any hard and fast general rule in regard to the validity of a character certificate. It would be part of the guidelines issued by the accepting organisation. The organisation which appoints a person can insist that a new appointee should produce two certificates obtained within three months at the time of joining, if such a condition is there in their guidelines.
In the matter of central government appointments such matters would be there in the service rules governing appointments.

Although such/similar queries are discussed at various portals;
Approach the establishment that has issued the said certificate and request to mention that IT is valid for 6 months.
Relate with advertisement issued for said job and check for guidelines/instructions e.g; the said certificate should not be dated 6 months before/recently issued…etc etc and satisfy the recruiter with compliance..
