Power of attorney for canada

(Querist) 20 January 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hi There

My father is having PR of Canada. He is now in India and want to give Power of attorney to my Brother living in Canada so that my brother can deal with Canadian Authorities in his behalf.

Please let me know whether Power of Attorney being created as well as registered here in India will be valid there at Canada.

Do we need special process here to get it notary from some Canadian agency here.

Please suggest.

Thanks
Arpita

Your father is a permanent Resident of Canada.

He can get his signature attested on POA from Canadian embassy under Notarizing services and get it stamped in Canada.

For a Canadian abroad in need of the services of a public notary he can go to any Canadian embassy for assistance. This is part of what is called consular services which they render as a service to Canadian while abroad. This is not free and there are fees to pay.
