You have the choice of choosing the caste of your father or mother.

This rule is applicable to your son also.

You need not convert to SC for getting SC certificate for your son.

Apply to the Tashildar for the SC certificate of your son. In case of problem come back to us.

Once your name appears as christian or your son's name appears as christian first you have to reconvert as Hindu by performing certain rituals in authorized hindu matts and get their certificate as hindu to claim the SC benefits from thasildar office. It could be exempted if your Certificate shows you as Hindu irrespective of names

Reconvert to Hindu and proceed to get the required certificate as advised. Agree with the expert N.J.S.Rajkumar alias narasimha.

Mr.NJSR,

It is upto you to accept my views and opinions.

Even if I differ with other experts, I will say my opinion and will never ask them to proof their opinion.

If you have a different opinion and wants me to proof my opinion, You have to start that first.

How do you say that that the Christian has to convert to SC for the purpose of getting a SC certificate for his son.

Have to gone through the law of the community certificate of TN State.

Have you gone through any of the verdict of the Apex Court in the similar issue.

The fact is that we are treating the querists as layman / less legal knowledge and helping them.

A dalit when converts as Christian looses all his rights as Dalit. Many of them converts their religion with out mentioning it in their certificate.A converted Dalit christian who had mentioned the same in his certificate as Christian will not be given any Dalit benefits. If he wants the benefits he has to go back to hindu religion completing all the formalities like rituals in authorized arya samaj or matts and publishing the same in official gazettes

I find some meaning in expert Mr. NJSR's opinion on the subject issue. A Hindu individual belonging SC community converts to Christianity loses the benefits available to the said community and to regain, that individual has to reconvert to Hindu to gain the original status of community/caste.Here author's son being a Hindu, it should be noted that what was the community it quoted in his school certificate because the author himself is stated to have been a Christian since his childhood.

In every certificate of my son,he belongs to hindu-mala-sc only.its in my certificate only, christian is appearing.even my own brother, sister its mentioned as hindu-sc only.now my son has taken caste certificate by giving his school certificate (in which he is sc) and his mothers certificate for proof(she is also sc). Is that caste certificate valid? can a child get his caste from his mother?
ramu (Querist) 23 January 2014
one more thing sir,i never converted to christian but as per my school and degree certificate i am christian.its my mother who write christian in my certificate. will i get s.c status. even if i didnt get sc status its not a problem, will my son get sc status?
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 23 January 2014
Yes it is very much valid. go ahead in using that certificate.
