Rights of a daughter

dear sir,
my wife is 30 yrs old.she has a brother who is 28.I would like to know about her rights on her parents properties as per law.can she claim her right of her parents properties if she wants to?can her brother create hurdles in that? how is the above case applicable if her father has made any will or not...

Your wife can claim her rights on the ancestral properties of her parents.
As regards the self earned properties , they can dispose of as per their own wish.
