Need of death certificate

Dear experts,
One of my client was living separately from her husband, since he was having extra marital affairs and some other bad habits. She is having a girl child. They were living separately nearly for 5 years. Suddenly on 21.09.2012 he died by getting current shock. Thereafter the death ceremonies were done by his relatives and only after all these things happened it was come to the knowledge of my client through the Police Station. Then she went to the police station and they have just given a copy stating the details of his husband and mentioned he had died. When she went to Municipality to apply for death certificate, they asked the Graveyard receipt, but she is not having the same. Thereafter, she could not apply the same. Since she is the only breadwinner, she left the same and went to her job. When she applied to insert her child's name in the Ration Card, she was asked to produce the death certificate.
Now, how could she get the graveyard?
Whether she can ask from the police station or she has to apply before the Magistrate Court?
Since 20 days has been elapsed to apply for the death certificate what is the procedure to apply for death certificate?
Please kindly help me to do favour to my client....

the husband family must be having death certificate . ask them for certifed copy of death certifcate . in alternative she would visit the grave yard and ask them for certifcate . based on said certifcate she can obatin death certificate

Already the husband family has received the grave yard receipt and they refused to give the same and they are not even ready to apply for the death certificate.
Whether the grave yard authority will issue another copy to my client.

ask for another copy . state that you are the wife of deceased . they will coperate

One may obtain as much certificates as he desires subject to deposit of required amount of every such certificate from the municipality.
