Share in brothers's property

sir we are living in joint family. 10 years back 600 sqft land was purchased and registered in my elder brothers name. now i m asking about my share of land then he replied that i have legal share in the property and i do not require separate registration as we are in joint family. sir my question is that is it true that i can get share in the property which has been registerd in my elder brothers name.

Well it would be very difficult that the property though purchased in the name of your brother was actually meant for the joint family.
You can however try your luck through partition suit though success is unlikely.
