Yes registration is necessary to form a law firm.

I think u want to know by law firm name, if it is so then you will have register your law firm with the state bar council.

If you require the separate entity of firm then it requires registration with your State Bar Council.

i think you have to go to registrar office of the society and law firm office for the registration of your firm because as per my know bar counsel never registered any firm. so you have to go to registrar office for registration your firm.

as far as i am concerned, advocate firms are not mostly registered. you can enter into a firm agreement (partners) and continue in the name you decide. go on go a head.
