My sister was a member of the Vital Wave club in Vasai (East). The club closed down in 2008 and at the time they had sent a letter of closure to all members. However they have not yet returned the security deposit my sister paid during the initial membership.
Is there a particular law that covers such cases? is there a possibility of her sending a legal notice to the club owners to pay the deposit?
Appreciate if any of you could provide your valuable advise as it has been so long since they keep avoid paying the due amount.
thank you,
Priya

Club must have lots of advocates as members, and were personally known to you, living nearby. Pl contact few & ask what they did? U joins their action. So simple. SO FREE. Club members can easily afford their fees, but they must be your close friends, in Vasai, being a near Mumbai devp city
Over and above, VASAI COURT IS ONE OF THE OLDEST COURTS IN INDIA, WITH young and energetic ADJ Joshi, Judge who will deliver fast judgement.

your sister is getting wake up after 3 years, so civil court can not help you. Since your sister's claim of amount is time barred.

There is no chance of recovery being a civil suit is time barred in the given case. A FIR can be lodged under section 420 IPC and under that garb, the security amount may be got refunded by respective persons.
