Police. How long does it take for action from the Police and the procedure involved?

Normally police should issue FIR in first person's account.He should issue acopy/copies to prosecution and defence/accused.

Police may have to proceed. May prey the court to have status report.

Due to corrupt practices such delay happens.

Approach higher officers of the police for early action, even than if no action is taken by the authorities move to area Magistrate through a local lawyer.
