Hi,

one of my friends sister got married and got a son . recently her husband died due to ill health. The father of that deceased husband is still alive and he has 2 more sons, enjoying some ansisteral property. Can my friends sister file a case for the share of the property of her deceased husband? Please advise..

She can.
She may try amicable settlement first.
She has right to reside in the house/property.

Which personal law applies to deceased husband e.g. Hindu Succession laws?

settle the issue with other elders. if not materialized then she can file case. consult an experienced local lawyer.

Confirm whether the property fulfills the definition of ancestral property.
