Truck driver assaulted my father

Sir,

On 27/6/2015 at 10.30 a.m. one truck driver dash the truck on my father's bike and that driver assaulted my father by iron rod. My father got injured and his nose got fractured.

My father is policemen and we launch compliant against truck driver and police caught him on the same day. As my father's nose was fractured so compliant was registered under Sec. 238.

I want to know what consequences the accused will face after filing this case. Is there any possibility that he will get relief from court by paying fine ?

I need your valuable opinion.
