Hi
Can i get mobile tower or location details for SMS sent by me from my number from Mobile Service Provider company. I just want to prove that i was in that city/area at that point of time.
Are Mobile companies keep tower/location information along with SMS details. If yes, for how long.
Also, please let me know that whether mobile company is keeping record of missed calls (If i haven't subscribed for Missed call service) and for how long?
Also, if i have a subscribed 'Missed Call Service' then can i get details for any 6 months ago date. Kindly guide

you can ask with TRAI under RTI act. some companies are giving details w.r.t call No. details. Not specific location. It can only obtained by police in this matter(cyber cell)

Is the calls required in connection with a crime? If yes then without the aid of the Police or through the process of court you can not lay your hands on those details.
If any civil dispute is pending where such details are necessary for just decision of the case then a;so you may summon to bring the concerned officials with the required call details.

as you posted in 'Criminal Law' Section. and any case related to above mentioned facts, the court can call u/s 91.

Presume that your intention is to prove that you were present in a particular place on a particular date and time, by obtaining the evidence of calls/SMS in your mobile phone. You may not prove it, since you can handover the said phone to somebody else who may be possessing it at that time.

A cumbersome piece of evidence indeed.This will be weakest type of evidence as many suspicious circumstances will have to be purged through in that kind of evidence being used to establishing alibi.

Nevertheless, the accused just has to bring doubt in prosecution story and not prove conclusively anything.
Missed calls are not recorded, but SMS location can be gotten by calling records of MSP in court.
A good detective worth his salt would get it done at very reasonable price.
