Where are you located??

Stamp duty revenue goes to states and all states have their own law.

Visit your nearest sub registrar office or the office where the property situate.

I do agree with above experts
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 17 November 2011
You better go for gift deed as the stamp duty for such is negligible in most part of this country.

Barman! Stamp duty on gift deed is hundreds times more than relinquishment deed. In Haryana, relinquishment deed is prepared/drafted on Rs. 50/- (fifty) stamp paper whereas rate of stamp duty on gift deed is 3% so relinquishment deed is best option. Duty varies from state to state.
prabhakar singh (Expert) 18 November 2011
That you say makkad and Barman says that in WB duty on gift is only 0.5%.
