stamp paper

hi folks,
I have a stamp paper dated on sep 2008,
and i have used the same for affidavit recently with the date may 2010.
is this old stamp paper dated 2008 wil be valid since used notary signed is 2010?
Please help me in dis regard, as I have to submit the same as proof for applying passport.
what is the validity period of the stamp paper in karnataka?

yes, it valid but it must be in the name of person, who sworn the affidavit.
